Fellowship Compass ("we," "us," or "our") operates a faith-based community directory at fellowshipcompass.com. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

a. Information You Provide

• Account information: When you sign up, we collect your name and email address through our authentication provider (Clerk).
• Listing information: If you submit or claim a listing, we collect the organization's name, address, phone, website, description, service times, and any images you upload.
• Event information: Events you create or import from Planning Center, including titles, dates, times, and descriptions.
• Contact & support messages: If you contact us directly, we retain that correspondence.

b. Information Collected Automatically

• Usage data: Pages visited, search queries entered, and features used — collected in aggregate to understand how the Service is used.
• Location data: If you grant permission, we use your approximate location to show nearby listings. We do not store precise GPS coordinates persistently.
• Log data: Standard server logs including IP address, browser type, and timestamps. These are retained for a limited period for security and debugging purposes.

c. Third-Party Integration Data

If you connect your Planning Center Online account, we receive and store OAuth tokens and event data from that account. We use this solely to sync events to your listing. We do not share your Planning Center credentials or data with any other party.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To display your organization's listing and events to visitors
• To authenticate you and manage your account
• To send transactional emails (e.g., listing approval notifications, event reminders) via our email provider (Resend)
• To improve the Service through aggregate usage analysis
• To respond to support requests
• To detect and prevent fraud or abuse

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising profiling.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We use cookies and browser local storage to maintain your session and remember preferences such as saved listings and your chosen language. We do not use third-party advertising cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, though some features may not work correctly.

5. Data Sharing

We share data only in these limited circumstances:

• Service providers: We use Clerk (authentication), Resend (email), and cloud hosting infrastructure. These providers process data only on our behalf and under our instructions.
• Legal requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public.
• Business transfer: If Fellowship Compass is acquired or merged, user data may transfer to the new owner, who will be bound by this policy or provide notice of changes.

6. Data Retention

We retain your account and listing data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as fraud prevention records).

Listing information that is publicly visible may remain on the platform after an organization disconnects their account, as it represents information about the organization itself. Listing owners may request full removal by contacting us.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal information we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated personal data
• Object to or restrict certain processing of your data
• Receive a copy of your data in a portable format

8. Children's Privacy

Fellowship Compass is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that a child under 13 has provided personal information, we will delete it promptly.

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), secure credential storage, and access controls to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take reasonable steps to protect your information.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email or an in-app notice. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
